Our StoryA little about us

After School Coffee started, fittingly, before school. Tisha Rugg would roast small batches on a tiny home roaster in the early morning hours — long before the first bell.

What began as a quiet hobby grew as she started giving coffee away to friends. They kept asking for more, and eventually she began selling it. When Tisha retired, she bought herself a small commercial-grade roaster, and her husband Bill built a coffee-roasting shed in the backyard. She's been roasting there ever since.

It's a true homegrown, cottage-industry business. When Tisha isn't roasting, she's raising chickens, baking sourdough, tending her big gardens, and getting outdoors. Every bag comes out of that same small backyard shed — roasted with care, a few pounds at a time.

Come Sit a WhileCoffee tastings

Tisha also hosts coffee tastings — a chance to slow down and try the roasts side by side.

Each tasting comes with fresh-baked sourdough, cheese, and, when the garden's giving, locally grown vegetables. It's the whole cottage table: good coffee, good bread, and whatever's ripe out back.
